About Me

I first fell in love with teaching while working as an English teaching assistant in Spain in 2015. Since then, I've carved out a career focused on education and impact as an instructional designer, working on projects in international development, government, and foreign relations. Through all of my work, I strive to create training that empowers learners to solve problems, perform their jobs better, or learn something new.

I recently earned my Master's of Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education in the Learning Design, Innovation, and Technology program and focused my coursework on leadership, design, and evaluation.

Learning Design Philosophy

Cultivated over seven years of working as instructional designer and based in cognitive science principles and universal design for learning, my approach to learning design centers the audience and seeks to solve learning challenges creatively.

Empathize

Everything begins with your audience. In order to design an learning experience, we need to understand the audience's needs, interests, and concerns.

Explore

What do you want your audience to learn? Is that what your content reflects? It's important to drill down into what's important for your learner and isn't.

Iterate

The design process messy and exciting. The best product comes from several rounds of trying new ideas and receiving feedback.

Deliver

Whether it's an online course, video, or in-person workshop; the delivery method selected should serve the learning content and the audience, not the other way around.
